MORE COMING SOON!!
The 2008-2009 school year brought about several opportunities to engage with students to find out what they want from their child nutrition program. Hoover City School District surveyed students, faculty, and Hoover families to better understand how the district is perceived in various key areas - CNP being one of them. The data collected from the surveys, although not very conclusive in some areas for our program, showed us that the improvements we are putting in place will better suit each school cafeteria to better serve the student body.
We are continuing to invest in new equipment to speed up service and add more food safety elements, working to make our programs as efficient as possible to prevent additional meal cost increases, and adjusting our cycle menus to better match student food requests (within reason). In late Spring of 2009, Hoover CNP collected information from elementary and middle schoolers to understand their meal choices at school. The data proved to be very informative, showing that many students palates are just as educated as their brains! While the program wants to consider every suggestion, some just are not possible from a cost or nutrition standpoint. When the cycle menu for the 2009-2010 school year is issued (starting in September 2009), be sure to check it out and see what changes were made!
Providing nutritious meals to our students at an affordable price is a major department goal - let us know of any questions, concerns, or comments you have by e-mailing cnp@hoover.k12.al.us. In the meanwhile, CNP staff will continue following menu and service trends, review performance indicators, and keep our ears open for feedback! We continually strive to provide affordable, delicious, nutritious meals, all while maintaining a high level of customer service in the best food service environments possible - your voice helps! |
